One strategy that I’ve found very help at the blackjack table is a betting strategy called Progressive betting. The theory of behind, this the strategy, is try to lose less when losing and win more, when winning. If you are playing the best blackjack possible, it’s at best a breakeven game against the house, so actually win money, you should increase your bets while you’re on a winning streak. As soon as the streak is over, return to your original bet and start the progression over again. So here is what I hope is a simple explanation of how this works. Everytime you win 2 blackjack hands in a row, you should up your bet 50%. I usually like to go $5 - $7 - $10 - $15 - $20 - $30 - $50 -$75-$100-$150, etc. If I’m doing well I would move from 15-20 and 75-100 in 1 hand.
Now, short of you hitting a great streak, this strategy won’t make you rich, but should help those of us looking for free drinks and fun, while we keep our money. I’ve played about 25 hours of blackjack in Las Vegas in the last 4 months and close to break even, my main goal. I like to play, chat, drink for free and build up some comps for the next time. If a good streak/shoe comes my way, I’ll win at least a few hundred. See if Progressive betting can help you. For more about Progression Blackjack, see the book of the same name by Donald Dahl.
